Dr. Renae Gerschutz

Medical Director, DVM

Dr Renae Gerschutz received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 2003 after completing her undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University. She and her husband, Jay, reside in Defiance with their numerous pets, including dogs, cats, chickens, and a turtle, all of which have been rescued and are considered their family. Dr Renae enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially surgery and complicated internal medicine cases. When Dr. Renae is not working, she enjoys caring for her personal pets, traveling, gardening, and spending time outdoors. "I am very grateful to have achieved my lifelong dream of being a veterinarian and look forward to what a new day brings. I treasure the long-term bonds I form with my patients and clients and am honored by the trust placed in me."

Dr. Leah Krouse

DVM

Dr. Leah Krouse, DVM, grew up in Putnam County. She completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine emphasis at the University of Findlay. From there, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts. She currently resides in Kalida with her husband, Andrew, and their son, Charles. They have three dogs, Finnegan, Pancake and Nala, and two cats, Shawn and Gus. In her spare time, Leah enjoys walking her dogs, reading mystery novels, and spending time outside with friends and family.

Dr. Wendy Miller

DVM

Dr. Miller graduated from Paulding High School and attended Defiance College before going to Ohio State University to study veterinary medicine. After graduation, she briefly worked in the Columbus area before returning home to the Defiance Veterinary Clinic, where she had worked prior to attending OSU.

Dr. Miller takes an interest in a variety of veterinary subjects, including dermatology and ophthalmology, but particularly enjoys the relationships she makes as she watches her patients go from being puppies/kitties to adults to seniors.

In her free time, Dr. Miller enjoys working outside, reading, and playing piano. She lives with her husband, their four children, and their beloved turtle, Toby.
